Looks like I forgot to write anything last week. That's okay since I haven't done anything in two weeks. It's been crazy hot and the air quality has been really bad from the wildfires in Canada. I had hoped to get the far wall done so Doc could help me with the cupboards and tool area. However, his travel schedule changed and he left yesterday and will be gone for basically the rest of the month. I still need to finish the garage and the shed. Hopefully he'll have a free weekend before any August travels. Would really like it to be done before the garage sale.

Week 38

Week 37
Made it to the back door in the garage. I rinsed out all the old plant trays in the backyard before putting them in the recycle bin. Of course, the dog had to snatch a couple. Now I can start working along the back wall. It's suppose to be very hot this week so I'll see how much I can get done in the mornings.

Week 36
Worked a little bit in the garage. The snowblower area has been swept clean and the top of the freezer has been cleaned off. The freezer hasn't been defrosted yet. Need to focus on eating the stuff in there this week. This week I'll focus on the bench and the area around the back door. Doc will be home next Saturday so I really need to focus on this.
I also need to focus on general cleaning this week. It's been a little slack lately. I'll go back to upstairs on Monday and downstairs on Wednesday.

Week 35
Talk about taking it down to the wire. Finished up my Mt. Vernon project on Wednesday. I did it! Front door, all the way through the house and back to the front door in 8 months. There is a huge pile in the library for the garage sale. I have a list of repairs and projects to work on this fall. This summer I'll focus on the garage and shed and then the sale.
Need to get back on the cleaning schedule that was working okay before we got the dog. Monthly and quarterly chores need to be incorporated somehow. Do I include them on the Monday and Wednesday cleaning days? Or do I have a day, like Thursday or Friday, to knock out these items?
The only thing I've done in the garage so far is put some items in a box to take to hazardous waste. It was 90 degrees most of the week. Way too hot to work in the garage. It's suppose to be a little cooler this week. Should definitely try to do a little bit in the mornings. It would be great if I could get a big chunk done before Doc gets home from his trip. More than once he wanted to get started on the garage. I'd really like his help in the cleaning and sorting of the cupboards and tool chest. I have two weeks to be diligent in getting things done out there.

Week 34
Finished wiping down the shower. Asked Doc to re-caulk a small strip and re-glue a strip of baseboard in front of the shower. Well, it turned into a 3+ hour job that included taking the shower door off and really scrubbing all the pieces and then re-caulking all of it. It does look really nice, better than when I cleaned it. Need to finish up the toilet, the sink area, walls and floor. For the entry, just need to wipe down the walls, the light fixture, the ceiling fan and the front door. I will probably shampoo the carpet at the bottom of the stairs. Really need to finish by Wednesday.
Sunday, May 21, 2023
Week 33
Started on the bathroom. Wiped down the wall and baseboards from the door to the shower. Also cleaned the mirror behind the door. Started on the right side of the shower. Working in 15-20 minute spurts because of Ducky. Really need to finish up the bathroom and entry. Almost there!
Sunday, May 14, 2023
Week 32
The laundry room is finally done! It's what I spent most of Friday morning working on. That room should have gone much faster, but it's done now. Next up is the bathroom. The shower will be the worst part so I think I'll tackle that first. Doc and Trixie will be home this week so they can take turns watching the dog. Hopefully I can get some stuff done besides the bathroom.

Week 31
I hate that I've let myself get derailed by a little dog. Not just with the Mt. Vernon project, with everything. Doc and Trixie are gone this week so Ducky is going to spend some time in the kennel. I need to get the rest of Mt. V done. I'm almost there.
Last Sunday I decided to wash a load of towels. Before starting the load I noticed some water on the floor from the blankets I had just washed. Well, the floor totally flooded. It's like the water went through the drum and right out on the floor. I had a load of wet, dirty towels and water all over the floor. I moved things out and used the steamer to suck up the water. I had to run the dryer twice to dry the soaked towels. I probably should have wrung them out first. Doc was delayed in coming home from his trip so I didn't get to Lowe's until Tuesday evening. Picked out a washer and Doc took it home and hooked it up. The old washer is still in the laundry room. I should see if Pepa can bring his dolly to see if we can get it out of the laundry room or if I need to somehow disassemble it. Too bad it wasn't a month earlier, the old washer could have been taken with the big trash pickup. I just need to get in there and finish cleaning, mostly dusting and cobwebs. Then I can bring back the stuff I moved to the library. So close!

Week 30
Feeling a little blah and tired. Cleaned out both sets of cupboards in the laundry room. Did nothing on Friday and Saturday. Trixie is home from school and spent Friday evening and Saturday cleaning her room and unpacking. Hopefully I can get her to watch Ducky so that maybe I can clean the washer and dryer area today. Although, if the rain holds off, I should really try to pick up the sticks in the front yard and try to mow the grass.
The BHBL summit is this week so not sure how much I'll get done. I did put my choices in number order so I'll get to what I can get to but won't make myself crazy.
After the washer/dryer corner, I'll focus on the clothing bar, water softener and window corner. Nothing difficult is left, I just need the time to do it.
Sunday, April 23, 2023
Week 29
With a little difficulty I did manage to work on the laundry room Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Solo doggy duty is tough. I probably could have put him in the kennel, but I tried saving that for meetings and lunchtime. However, some progress was made.
I cleaned the furnace, water heater, the tall shelves, the towel cart, the wall shelves, the drying shelf and the black shelves. I also washed some loads of car towels, blankets, and dog items. Have a couple things to hand wash still. The dog kept pulling towels out of a basket and a crate. Stole the washcloth by the water heater. He tried to bite the vacuum cord. Little stinker!
This week I'll focus on the cupboards, washer, dryer, white shelf and sink.
I did add a few items to the garage sale pile. Trixie will need to help me sort through the two totes filled with toys and dress-up items.
Sunday, April 16, 2023
Week 28
I didn't get to the binders except for the one with financial information. It was Shred Day at the credit union so I did take a box of papers from a few binders and the filing cabinet. Trixie adopted a cute, little dog on Tuesday so I've been on doggie duty this week. Didn't get a whole lot done. Fortunately, I hadn't scheduled anything but the binders this week. Doc will be gone for the next two weeks and Trixie won't be home until the 25th so the dog might be spending a little more time in the kennel so I can get things done. Walks and backyard time will have to be woven in between times of work.
I didn't make the timeline, but looking at the calendar I have six weeks until the end of May. Two to four weeks would finish off the laundry room, a week for the bathroom and a week for the stairs and entry. I'll get the task list for the laundry room done today. I'm thinking the furnace, water heater, towel cart and the shelving unit could get done this week. I'm so close now. I have to keep going! I'll also need to start focusing on eating what's in the freezers so that I can defrost the garage freezer in June. No where to put that food. Need to eat it and not buy freezer stuff until it's defrosted.
Sunday, April 9, 2023
Week 27
It's done! The library is done. I finished on Friday. I like to stand in there and look at the bookshelves. The garage sale pile in the corner is mostly contained and will be gone in August. The basket of bags will be dealt with when Trixie moves home. We'll sort the craft stuff sometime this summer. I haven't gone through the stack of binders yet. I think I will do that this week before moving on to the laundry room. I will work on the timeline for that, the bathroom and the staircase and entry. Almost done with the house! Then it will be the garage and the shed. Since I'm running ahead of schedule, it will be nice to get to the garage before it gets too hot and get it done before the garage sale. So pleased!

Week 26
What a week! While doing the downstairs chores on Wednesday, I decide to do a little area of the library. Cleaned the area in front of the window and the first bookcase on that wall. Book shuffling is very addicting. Thursday I worked on the next two cases and the floor in front of the other window. Instead of working on the bookcases on the other side, I just continued along the wall, Mt. Vernon style, on Friday. Upper and lower cupboards and the counter were cleaned. Only the center opening on the bottom was left. On Saturday I cleaned out the drawers in the center and the first bookcase on the other wall. Pull out some homeschooling items. Almost all the books on the ledge of the counter are now on a bookshelf. If I go through the paperback picture books, I could get all the books off the counter.
Added some things to the garage sale pile. Trixie wants to sort through a couple boxes before they go in the garage sale pile. Also found more craft stuff which I added to the list of locations. I also have more binders to sort through. I'll need to find out if a used curriculum sale is happening soon and if someone can sell my stuff for me. There might be a few more items on the bottom shelf of the next bookcase. I did keep a few things that I think would be fun to go through myself.
Way, way, way ahead of schedule. Barely into April for a project scheduled out to the end of May. Four bookcases and the floor are left. Plus all the things to be sorted, like binders, play dough box, and crafts. I should probably focus on those before moving on to the laundry room. Big trash pick up is this week so that will get some of the mess out of there.
Yesterday I used the ceiling tiles as the guide. I think this week the bookcases will be the guide. The first chunk will be to clean the treadmill which is very dusty and covered in sweat and the second bookcase and anything on the floor that's lined up with the bookcase. I'll only have Thursday and Friday with Eager Hands on Saturday. Although, in my eagerness to finish I'll probably chip away at it earlier in the week, too. It would be great to get all that dustiness taken care of before Doc gets home.
Sunday, March 26, 2023
Week 25
Totally overestimated how much time I would need. On my timeline I had allotted time on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to deal with the garage sale pile. Um, two hours on Thursday! Relocated a few things from that corner, consolidated the garage sale stuff, and have a couple things set aside for the big trash pick-up coming up soon. I saved some boxes to help contain the garage sale pile. That corner will just seem a little messy until the sale in August. At any point it could just become the donation pile and disappear quickly.
Friday and Saturday freed up because the pile clean-up went faster than I expected. I started on the two bookshelves by first going through the things left on the shelves after moving Doc's books upstairs last summer. Shelves were dusted and pulled away from the wall for a good vacuuming. I then moved all the DVDs to one of the cases. We have a lot of entertainment there. The second case has my workout videos on the top, CDs on the next two shelves, and empty shelf and the bottom shelf will hold albums and special binders. I think I'll save the empty shelf for additional DVDs as I know the Murder, She Wrote case is still upstairs. The bottom shelf will get more items when I get to those things from other bookcases.
I didn't get anything done on Saturday as Doc was in there exercising all morning. Didn't want to kick up the dust. For the cases on the window side of the room, I won't have to empty the shelves, dust and return the items as one case is empty. I'll be able to clean the shelves and then shuffle things over, then clean the next case and shuffle things over. The advantage is on the third case I'll be closer to the counter where many books are residing. I won't have to walk very far to relocate those books to the shelves. That won't be the case for the bookcases on the other side of the room.
So now I'm two weeks ahead on my timeline. Yay! This week I'll clean that bit of wall space in front of the window, take care of the things on the floor in front of the three bookcases and start on the bookcases. Depending how those things go, I might be able to clean up the area in front of the other window. Then I'll tackle the shelves on the other side. A little bit bigger job I think. I'll save the counter area for last.
Sunday, March 19, 2023
Week 24
Storage closet is done! It really wasn't that bad. I pulled everything out on Thursday and grouped things together, like all the empty shoeboxes. Put some things in the donation pile. Vacuumed and dusted the tops of the totes. Put back the things I know I'm keeping like keepsakes. On Friday I took care the bowling balls, flattened all the boxes, moved a box of binders and folders to the donation pile, sorted through old calendars and gift bags, and pulled statements, receipts and tax returns from the filing cabinet and put in permanent storage.
I still have some binders (mostly), a cupboard and the file tray on my desk to sort. I think for now I'll leave those on my to-do list. I did make a timeline for the library. I now have ten weeks to tackle that room. The first task will be to organize that mess which is mostly the garage sale pile. I'll need to try not spreading that mess out too far on Thursday as I need the floor space to work out on Friday. I'll need to pull out the stuff that is not for the garage sale, but was maybe in the corner before stuff started getting dumped there. Then I'll consolidate the garage sale stuff in the bins and boxes so it's not spilling out all over.
The library is a bit overwhelming to look at, but I'll just focus on a small piece each week.

Week 23
Emptied the coat closet on Thursday around some online events. Put back a few things as I had time. Finished it on Friday. I gathered all the bags into a laundry basket. Since not all of those bags are mine, it will be a family event to decide what's staying. Pulled out a few coats to donate. Flipped all the hangers backwards to see if I can figure out what's not being worn. I put sorting hats and mittens on my to-do list. I'm guessing a lot of those things can go.
Fell a little behind in sorting drawers and binders. Not as much fun when I can't listen to a podcast, but it's hard with paperwork. Can't listen and read at the same time. Need to make sure I do at least 15 minutes a day.
Going to tackle the storage area this week. This is the last big task for the office area. Should I pull everything out and then deal with things or pull something out and deal with it? I think there are a million shoeboxes hiding in there. Thursday may just be the flattening of boxes! Unless something crazy comes up, I should be all done on Saturday. Definitely need to get the library timeline together as I'll have two weeks of March to use.
Sunday, March 5, 2023
Week 22
The closet is done! I worked on it Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Craft items didn't get sorted, but were corralled. Trixie and I will do a major sort and purge of all the craft items that are currently stored in four different locations. I also saved a variety of boxes to use for the craft items. Any boxes left unused after the sorting will go in recycling. Most of the clutter that came out of the closet and into the office has been taken care of. A few boxes and binders to sort through are still out. I have a list of the boxes, drawers, and binders to work on the rest of this month. Because it's a lot of papers it's hard to listen to a podcast while doing it. I've been setting a timer. I need to complete three or four a week to finish by the end of the month. The bottom file cabinet needs to be at the top of the list as some of those files should be put in the tax tub in the storage area.
I only have Thursday and Friday this week because of Eager Hands. Empty the space on Thursday and refill on Friday? Maybe empty on Wednesday after my chores and shower? There were a couple tax things I needed to look at for Social Security. However, if the space is organized and not overstuffed, I should be able to easily get to it.
Maybe I should do the coat closet instead since I only have the two days. The following week would give me three days for the storage area. Yes, I think I will do that.
I've been thinking about how to break the library down. If I could finish the office a little early to get a head start on the library, it might be helpful because the Beautiful Home, Beautiful Life summit is coming soon, I think. I don't want to fall behind in the library. It's quite a massive project. Hopefully Doc will be away as it's also very dusty.

Week 21
I was planning to tackle the closet floor on Thursday, but I signed up for an online class that would be at the time I usually work on Mt. V. I decided to listen to a podcast Wed. afternoon and get a head start on the floor. An ice storm Wed. into Thursday knocked out our internet so no class or anything online so lots of closet time. Not only did I get the floor done, but the black cart (Friday's task) and the safe area (Saturday's task). I also started on the baby chest drawers and top. Friday I caught up on the online stuff and went to a very long lunch and visit with a friend. Saturday I continued with the baby chest cupboard and started on the bottom wall shelf. Sorted through many notebooks. Sorted through a couple boxes of novelty pencils while watching TV. So pleased with the progress this week. Thanks ice storm!
So this week's plan is to finish the two wall shelves and continue with box and drawer sorting. I probably won't have much time Friday morning to work on things as I help Trixie get ready for her spring break trip.
After this week, I'll have three weekends left. One weekend for the storage closet and one for the coat closet and one for cleaning up the mess of stuff from the closet that has migrated back into the office as I clean and sort. Every evening needs to include the sorting of a box or two.
I'll try to make the library timeline soon. That will allow my brain to noodle on it before April starts.
Sunday, February 19, 2023
Week 20
I sorted and emptied boxes on Thursday. Consolidated the craft and office supplies and set those aside for now. I sorted the backlog papers and notebooks into four piles. Those will be added to the weekly list to work on. Friday's focus was the very top of my desk and the cubbies. Very dusty but looks much better. After a slow start to my Saturday, I did spend a couple hours, while listening to nine podcasts, cleaning my bookshelves. Every one was dusted and the cobwebs hidden behind were vacuumed. I did part with a few items. The loose categories are the Bible materials and craft books are on the bottom, then hard cover, soft cover, devotionals and small books. Randomly grouped by size. My collection of Bibles is on the top of my desk.
I did start working my way through papers in my bottom desk drawer. I don't really want to tote those upstairs during TV time. It will have to be done as part of the weekly plan along with the filing cabinet. Some of the files will need to get moved to the storage area when I get to that. I did clean out the two little desk drawers a little while back, but I think some of the excess notepads can go in the closet so I'll wait until I get to that part. The cart will just need to be part of the backlog.
Next up is the closet. I'm three weeks ahead of the original schedule. Trying to figure out the best way to tackle it. I don't want to pull everything out, dust and put everything back. I need to go through all those boxes. Craft items will be sorted this summer. So I just need to consolidate until that time. Maybe I won't worry about sorting boxes the next couple days. Thursday I can tackle the floor. Friday, focus on the black cart which will also take care of my desk drawers. Saturday will be the safe and white cart area. Things to sort can be stacked next to my desk for evening review. That will leave the baby chest and the two upper shelves. This is doable.
Sunday, February 12, 2023
Week 19
Still ahead of schedule. Tried to sort boxes in the evening. The boxes in the orange chair have been emptied. Another box had craft items in it so that one will wait for the big summer craft sort. Not sure where to keep it until then. My church bag was cleaned out. A bag of papers was sorted. Most of the papers ended up in recycling. Still need to figure out how the backlog of papers are going to get done. Sorted a box of stuff last night. Those things just need to find a home somewhere other than the box. Still have seven boxes/bags in front of the bookshelf. Sorting those should probably be the focus for this week. Desk drawers, cubbies and cupboards are being added to the list. The very top of the desk should also be a focus this week. Sort and empty boxes, clean top of the desk and figure out what to do with paper backlog will put me in a good spot to clean the bookcases the following week. I think I will swap the coat closet and the closet on the schedule as the closet will have more boxes to sort. Getting to them early would probably be best instead of at the end. I'll do the storage area under the stairs after the closet. Hopefully everything that needs to go in there will be gathered.
Thursday I did physical cleaning around the desk area and bulletin board. Friday I gathered items for the Animal Rescue Project and Household Hazardous Waste. Doc was going to drop off those things for me yesterday. He forgot to take one of the boxes to HHW. ?? I guess they wouldn't take the medications. I think I'll make weekly trips to the police station and drop them off in the Red Med Box. I'll just add that to my Tuesday errands. The office is going better than I had planned. Trying not to get bogged down with all the boxes and papers. It is going to feel great to get this done!

Week 18
What progress in the first four days of the month! As it turned out, Wednesday was assigned the Mt. Vernon focus day. So after my workout, downstairs chores, and shower, I focused on section one of the office. Totally finished dusting, washing grocery bags, clearing items off the hooks, putting away stuff camped on the stairs and a good vacuuming. So already ahead and I hadn't reached my normal Mt. V days. Thursday and Friday I cleaned up section two which included the cubbies and shoe spaces and cleaned up the pile in the corner. Dusting and vacuuming finished those two days. Friday evening I sorted through the battery box and the magazine box. I'll read magazines and newsletters before naptime. Only things still needing attention in section two include the cart, the boxes in the orange chair and the overstuffed bag of gift bags. I did sort through the first four drawers of the cart on Saturday night. Added some things to the backlog. Saturday morning I spent the length of a podcast tackling part of the floor from section three. I added a list of boxes to my sort list. I think if I can physically clean the sections on Thur.-Sat. and sort a box during TV time each night and make a plan for what's left in the box after all the unnecessary stuff is removed should really keep me moving along. I guess I'm okay with paper items being added to the backlog. I just don't want boxes and boxes left at the end of March. I'll see how it goes as I'm way ahead on my timeline. At least two weeks ahead. Since it is an Eager Hands week, Thursday and Friday's focus will be cleaning around the filing cabinet and lower part of my desk and the bulletin board area. Drawers and cubbies will be added to the sort list. The boxes in front of the bookcases really need to be sorted. I don't want to keep moving them back and forth to clean the book area. Since I'm ahead maybe putting off section four until those boxes are sorted would be okay. I'm really pleased with the progress as I was dreading this area a bit. So much stuff crammed in here. Emptying boxes will really help as I have even more boxes to sort once I get to the closets. Just keep moving forward!

Week 17
First of all, I'm just impressed that I've been consistent for 17 weeks. I think what helps is the encouragement from the GOHQ Facebook page and this project being listed as a "want-to" from my Work Life Harmony training.
The master bedroom is finished!!!! Before the end of the month! No scrambling on Tuesday trying to finish to stay on track. Wednesday I had a 25 minute time slot so I thought I would pull everything out of my side of the closet and put it on the couch. I'm so glad I did this. I had a Zoom meeting scheduled for 11:30 on Thursday. I also wanted to get a lesson of my C.S. Lewis course done before the Zoom call. This meant I needed to be done with closet stuff by around 10:30. Around 8:30 I got started. First I pulled a box from the crawl space to have Doc look at when he gets home. I was then able to move in a couple boxes of books and rearrange some of Trixie's toys to clear up space at the entrance to make it easier for me to add things later, if necessary. I vacuumed and dusted a little in there, but didn't pull everything out. I then tried on almost all the clothes in the pile on the couch. I set aside some items for Trixie to look at and I had a huge donate pile. I flipped my hangers backward to see what I really end up wearing. I was able to get things back in the closet including the reduced pile of sweaters and the not so reduced pile of sweatshirts. I do love sweatshirts. The only thing I didn't get to on Thursday was the box that had scarves, sexy nighties, and some jeans. I did that on Friday. Nighties all went to the donate pile, scarves went into a smaller shoebox and placed in one of the bed cubbies. The box was eliminated and now I have a small pile of pants and capris on the closet shelf.
Saturday morning I popped in an Avalon CD and emptied the storage closet. Tossed a few things, added a few things to the donation pile, relocated a few things, and intentionally put back items in the closet. Still looks like a jumbled mess. It's such a weird space under the stairs. I'm hoping Trixie and I will be able to sort craft supplies this summer. Craft stuff is now stashed in four separate locations. Hopefully that won't be the case after we sort things.
The office is next. I did make a general timeline for different sections. Not sure if Thursday-Saturday will be enough. Some sections have two weeks. The physical cleaning can certainly get done on those days. It's the paper clutter that is going to take time. Do I do what I can do in the assigned weeks or save paper clutter as a separate project? Save physical cleaning for Thur-Fri and work on the sorting on Sat. and maybe other days of the week? Do what I can until the end of March and add whatever isn't done to my backlog until Mt. Vernon is done? Although, I think some of the boxes of stuff in the office are already listed on my backlog. It would be nice to get it all done and off the backlog.
The first week's assignment is the long wall with the coat hooks and the stairs. Since it's mostly just physical cleaning for this section, Thursday morning may be sufficient. Then I could get started on the next section early. It includes the cubbies in the hall, the shoe cubbies, the shoe rack, the Christmas boxes that still need to go back to the garage, the huge pile of stuff in the corner near the stairs. I did weed through the drawers of the cart a year or so ago looking for items for Trixie's scrapbook for her graduation open house. The papers left should be things I wanted to keep, read or do something with them. I was going to wait until towards the end to clean out the storage area under the stairs so I could gather all that I wanted to put in there. Just wondering where to keep those items until then. No room currently in there. I also need to make a plan for things not staying to have an exit strategy. I have some sheets to go to the animal rescue and books to Forest Academy to see if there are any that can find a new home. This is going to be a big project.

Week 16
I did the Monday and Wednesday chores and three workouts. On Wednesday I did the workout, ran the vacuum and then showered. This week dusting of the master will be added to the downstairs chore list. I finished all the sections of the bedroom on Friday. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to finish the whole clothes closet this Thursday. I finished the sections early so that I could work on the closet yesterday. I did Doc's side first since he is going out of town again. I needed him to make some decisions. The last time I cleaned out the closet was pre-Covid. At that time I had flipped his hangers backwards. As shirts were worn and washed, I flipped those hangers the right way. There were a handful of hangers that were still backwards. He said they could all go without even looking at them. I had his sweaters and sweatshirts spread all over the bed so he could look and decide on the keepers. The old, tattered, and stained are gone now. Hangers have been flipped again and groups have been reorganized. I also flipped the basket of inside out socks. Matched the pairs and stacked them nice in his drawer. I had some widowed socks. I didn't discard them yet as sometimes socks get left in his suitcase when he pulls out laundry. I'll reevaluate the widows after this next trip.
I didn't do my side of the closet because I was waiting for Doc to decide on the shirts on the bed. He was riding his bike so it took a while. I think I can do my side on Thursday and probably the crawl space. That will give me Friday and Saturday for the storage closet and floor.
I did make a general timeline for the office area dividing the sections over February and March. Still need to figure out the best schedule for actual cleaning and sorting through the stuff. Some areas get two weeks.
Sunday, January 15, 2023
Week 15
Yes, I did get some things done this week! Did the weekly cleaning on Monday and Wednesday. Still trying to figure out the most efficient way to do each floor. Also started some easy Leslie Sansone and Body Groove workouts. Trying to figure out if doing them before or after housework is better. Thursday I did three sections of the bedroom. Friday I did two. I purposely picked those two thinking it would be very dusty. Doc was still out of town giving time for things to settle. Didn't hear any sneezing last night so it must have been okay. I should have done his nightstand area on Thursday. That area is very dusty. The last seven sections will be done this week on Thursday through Saturday. After that will be the two closets and the floor. Doc leaves again next weekend.
Looking ahead to the next space....the office. What a disaster! Not only does the physical space need a good cleaning, organizing and decluttering, but there is a lot of paper clutter. Things to read, file, do and hopefully discard. I'm guessing there will be many items I thought were important to keep because of further action needed that won't be important anymore. I just need to figure out how to balance the cleaning of the physical space and sorting through the paper stuff. I did give myself two months for this area. Maybe one month for the physical and one for the mental stuff. Not sure if Thursday-Saturday will be enough. Might need to do the mental stuff in daily spurts. Maybe I should start the task list so I can make a plan before Feb. starts.

Week 14
This week went pretty well with the new schedule. Still need to work out some kinks. Trixie was still on break so taking her to work and the doctor threw things off a little. She's back at school now. Doc is out of town. Dash has his own car to drive to school. I should have no excuse for not getting things done as I'm all alone this week.
I was able to do the upstairs chores on Monday and the downstairs chores on Wednesday. Felt a little chaotic, but I think it will flow better with more practice. Need to work in the monthly and quarterly chores. Work in progress!
I did start the Mt. V in the master bedroom. Doing the silly ceiling panel method. I did two and half sections on Thursday, one and a half on Friday, and three on Saturday. Pretty pleased with how it is going so far. I won't be available this Saturday so the plan is to do two sections on Thursday and three on Friday. Or five between the two days. Friday may be a little crazy so shifting more to Thursday would be okay. Some sections are easier than others. Oh so dusty! It's a good thing Doc is gone or he'd be sneezing.

Week 13
Monday started really well with the bathroom. Wiping down the walls, dusting the vanity, wiped out the medicine cabinet, organized the drawers and cupboard. And then nothing! Getting the calendar and budget ready was more fun. Saturday I spent a lot of time cleaning the toilet and surrounding area. I thought Dash would hop in the shower so I waited on that, but he was waiting on laundry. So the shower didn't get done, but I did clean out the linen closet and hall closet. Added some projects to my list. I need to sort the hair accessory box and the box of sheets. From the hall closet, I did organize the grocery bags. Water bottles and lunch boxes need to be weeded out. I took out the door organizer to wash and repair. The elastic for the pockets needs to be replaced. Sounds like a good Murder, She Wrote task.
I will take a shower upstairs today and clean the shower when I'm done. Then I'll mop the floor. I'll dust the banister and vacuum the stairs as part of Monday chores. Next room of the Mt. Vernon adventure will be the master bedroom. The storage closet and clothes closet are right at the beginning. I think I'll save those for last as I'm pretty sure there are things in other areas of the room that need to be put in the closets. So this room I probably won't do around the perimeter. Need to shake things up a bit. I'll number the ceiling panels, pick a number and do whatever is in that section. There are 19 sections to do and then the closets and floor. I'm changing the cleaning schedule a little. Monday I'll focus on the upstairs. Tuesday will be for errands. Wednesday will be downstairs cleaning. It will be minimal as I work my way through the downstairs with Mt. Vernon. Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be Mt. Vernon focused. I'll see how that works out. I need to figure out what weeks to plug in monthly chores for the upstairs. I'm excited to finally be moving downstairs. This is where I'll be for the next seven months.
